Treatments & Techniques

Our Specialized Treatment Methods

At our clinic, we use a variety of evidence-based treatments and techniques designed to relieve pain, restore movement, and improve overall body balance. Each technique is carefully chosen to match your specific needs.

strain release

Strain/Counterstrain (Positional Release Technique)

A painless, gentle technique to “fool the brain” by placing muscles in specific positions to eliminate muscle spasms, tension, and pain.

MET Muscle Energy Technique

Muscle Energy Technique

Rather than using thrust techniques to correct alignment issues, muscle energy technique is gentle and specific, using the physics of your own muscles to isometrically reposition and correct misalignments.

Mulligan Technique

Mulligan Technique

This unique system of joint mobilizations and taping can dramatically help with pain surrounding virtually every joint in the body

Trager Approach

The Trager Approach

This psychophysical integration approach helps unblock restrictions & holding patterns, thereby relieving pain.

Trigger point release

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are deep and hard contractions that can develop within the muscles, causing pain and movement impairments. In this therapy, we find and work directly on the trigger points to relieve the contractions.

My fascial release

Myofascial Release

This is a treatment designed to release restrictions and adhesions in the connective tissue.

Primal Reflex Release Technique

Primal Reflex Release Technique

This new approach has provided the missing piece for many of our patients, who have quickly recovered from even long-term, chronic, conditions.  This technique uses primal reflexes (such as the startle and withdrawal) to influence and calm the sympathetic nervous system, which is often causing our symptoms.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Focused on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues, this treatment targets chronic aches, tightness, and stiffness. Slow, firm strokes and deep pressure are applied to release muscle knots and improve mobility. Perfect for athletes or anyone dealing with long-standing muscle tension or postural imbalances.

Aroma Therapy Massage

Aroma Therapy Massage

A soothing treatment that combines the healing power of touch with the therapeutic benefits of essential oils. Each oil blend is chosen for your specific needs, whether relaxation, stress relief, or energy balance. The gentle massage helps calm the nervous system, uplift mood, and improve circulation, leaving both body and mind refreshed.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage

Designed specifically for expectant mothers, this massage helps relieve common pregnancy discomforts such as back pain, swollen legs, and tension in the neck and shoulders. Gentle techniques are used to enhance circulation, reduce fatigue, and promote overall well-being for both mother and baby. (Performed only after the first trimester.)

Visceral Mobilization

Visceral Mobilization

At Tokyo Rehabilitation, we are certified in the visceral systems of the urinary, gastrointestinal (GI), and reproductive organs. Through precise, hands-on techniques, we assess and release tension patterns that affect organ mobility and their relationship to the surrounding muscles, fascia, and joints.

StretchA-Fusion-photos

StretchA Fusion

StretchA Fusion blends advanced techniques — including Thai Massage, FST, AIS, PNF, and Myofascial Decompression — into one dynamic, active-assisted stretching session. Performed on a massage table, it combines traction, compression, and multi-directional movement to release tension, improve flexibility, and enhance joint mobility. You’ll stay actively engaged throughout, working with your therapist to build strength and range of motion for a body that feels balanced, free, and recharged.

Pessarie

Pessary Fitting

A pessary is a small, medical-grade device placed in the vagina to help support the pelvic organs and manage conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence.

At Tokyo Rehabilitation, our trained physical therapists provide pessary assessment and fitting as part of a holistic pelvic health program. During your session, we evaluate your pelvic floor function, discuss your goals and comfort preferences, and guide you through the fitting process to ensure proper support and ease of use.

A well-fitted pessary can reduce symptoms of pressure, leakage, and discomfort, allowing you to stay active and confident in daily life. Education on pessary care, insertion, and removal is always included, empowering you to manage your pelvic health safely and independently.
